Blackburn’s and Bredesen’s contributions, by source

Rep. Marsha Blackburn has drawn more heavily on out-of-state donors than former Gov. Phil Bredesen has so far in the 2018 race for Tennessee’s open U.S. Senate seat, the latest data from the Federal Election Commission show.

But the same data show that Blackburn, a Republican who represents Tennessee’s Seventh District in the U.S. House of Representatives, has raised $1.9 million in itemized individual contributions so far, while Bredesen, a Democrat and former Tennessee governor, has raised only about $643,000 in such contributions.
