Rutherford posts area’s biggest gain in under-15 population

It appears Rutherford County is the place to be if you’re a kid.

By last year, the county was home to nearly 111 children age 14 and younger for every 100 living in the county back in 2010, the fastest growth rate among the 14 counties in the Nashville metro area, the latest U.S. Census Bureau figures show.

Rutherford leads the Nashville area in growth among children age 14 and younger since 2010, according to the latest U.S. Census Bureau figures. Six counties saw their 14-and-younger populations decline during the same period by rates ranging from 1 percent to 7 percent. Data source: U.S. Census Bureau.
